We next stopped in the highlands of Scotland where the ancient folklore story started, the story of Lock Ness, specifically known as Nessie, who is said to inhabit these waterways!
The Lock Ness Monster...Nessie
We next stopped at the city of Inverness for lunch. This is the largest city in north Scotland with a population of approx. 40,000 people.

Neil explains how he trains his dogs, how the sounds make a difference in what they are doing with the sheep (keeping them in a circle, splitting them into 2+ groups, moving them to other parts of the ranch, etc.).

Lock Ness Monster
Some tourists on our trip stopped to have what Ed, our tour guide, called food from a Scot...McDonald!
I did find the "Milk Bar" across the River Ness in Inverness. I got two flavors--Raspberry Ripple and Chocolate-- and took the photo over the River Ness looking at the castle on the hill in the background.
He also showed us how he cut the skin from the sheep. He could simple freeze the sheep from moving by hypnotizing it. He does this by holding his whistle in fromt of the eye of the sheep and swinging it 7 times. This mesmerizes or freezes the sheep so that he can easily cut the sheepskin of the fleece from the sheep without it moving! How fascinating!
It was so much fun for us to "play" with the dogs and the sheep as he continued to give us so much more info about the facts of the use and training of the dogs and the possession of the sheep skin or fleece.
What a fascinating stop!!
