City of Glasgow
What an incredibly beautiful cathedral! It was opened in 1197, first as a Catholic cathedral and then later switched to the Church of Scotland which is a branch of the Presbyterian or Protestant Christians.

The Falkirk Wheel
The device is the world's only rotating boat lift. (Three photos are above.) The two canals are the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal. It is to link two canals, one much higher on the land tha It opened in 2002.
In this video, we started at the bottom. Our boat is being lifted to reach the canal at the top while the boat that entered the wheel is lowering to join the canal at the bottom.
In this short video, our "gondola" has reached the canal at the top, so we are departing from the wheel and proceeding along the canal.
Before I had the chance to even learn what the Falkirk Wheel is let alone ride it, I first had a quick lite lunch. Of course, I also found some great ice cream!
Next, we drove up to experience The Falkirk Wheel, a device of which I've never heard or saw, but it was an incredible part of technology to so.
Our "gondola" rotating and reaching the top canal...we then leave the wheel by merely going straight forward onto the canal.
When we reacg the Union Canal which is the one at the top, we proceed through a tunnel at which point we will turn-around to return to the Wheel and go down.
After we turned around, we sailed back to the Wheel so we could enter the top portion and rotate so that we could exit on the Forth and Clyde Canal.
But this time, a second gondola joined us. When the Kirkland Wheel rotated, they departed first onto the Florth and Clyde Canal.
The 2nd boat then went through another loch to lower it to the next canal.
What an incredible invention! And to think I have never heard of this great device. Scotland is known for their many canals and hence also well known for their lochs to raise and lower gondolas from canal to canal.
What an amazing, beautiful, historic site to visit...and to put on my list of locations to revisit when I return!
We then checked-in to a great hotel!
